The following advice is for private households which are using electronic devices. We kindly ask you to follow the advices in the interest of an environmentally friendly as well as a save disposal of Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Taking into account environmental considerations and the desirability of reuse and recycling, Nos. 1 to 4 shall be applied in such a way that environmentally sound reuse and recycling of components or whole appliances is not obstructed.

  1. Advice to the disposal of Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and the meaning of the symbol in annex II: Identifying electrical and electronic equipment

It is the responsibility of every owner of old applicants to collect the waste from electrical and electronic equipment separately which means not to put it into unsorted settlement garbage and particular not into household rubbish. Such waste has to rather be collected separately and disposed at the local collection and return systems.

Owners of old devices also shall separate batteries and accumulators from the application which are not surrounded by the old application before handing it to the detection site.

The latter does not apply if the waste is according to § 14 paragraph 5 sentence 2 and 3 of the ElektroG which means it is supposed to be separated from other waste under the opting by the public waste disposal carriers for the purpose of preparation for reuse.

The symbol indicating separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment consists of a crossed-out wheeled bin, as shown below. The symbol must be printed visibly, legibly and indelibly.

  1. Information to the return of old applicants:

Owner of old appliances can return their Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment in public disposal or other return possibilities, which is ensured by the public waste management to make sure an environmentally sound reuse is not obstructed.

IT could be possible that there is an extra collection point for recycling of components or whole appliances. For more information please contact the respective collection or collection point.
